The worst job I've had

I have been very fortunate, I've always enjoyed and loved all jobs I've held, from being a waiter in a tapas bar, working on a hog roast stall (by far the tastiest), a hand full of bar roles at local pubs or even working in the tea rooms at the National Trust. I've always chosen jobs which I love and enjoy that way it doesn't feel like I'm working (as hard).

Job description

In this Business Development Executive graduate job, you will be working closely with the account management and marketing teams to manage the sales process. You will be researching potential clients, whilst also maintaining existing relationships and looking for new opportunities to expand the business. You’ll need to be confident, professional and have excellent communication skills, as you will be responsible for speaking to potential new clients and selling the company’s services to them.

Key responsibilities

In this Business Development Executive graduate job, your responsibilities will include:

  • Building a pipeline of leads using outreach emails and phone calls, as well as helping to set up appointments for the sales team
  • Researching contact information for prospects, and identifying the best ways to develop a relationship
  • Conducting outbound and inbound calls
  • Creating and maintaining client records within the company CRM system
  • Hitting and exceeding a number of challenging KPIs
  • Helping to grow the new branch of the business
  • Attending various networking events

Job requirements

  • A minimum of a 2.1 from a good university
  • A minimum of 6 months’ experience in a B2B sales based role
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • The confidence to work autonomously and liaise with senior business leaders
  • A keen eye for detail, and excellent organisational skills
  • Someone who is business-savvy
  • An interest in SaaS tech platforms
