In this remote Software Developer job, you will be joining a revolutionary early-stage EdTech start-up. They are passionate about ensuring the future generation receives the best education experience. Their vision is to help 10 million students enter formal education by 2025. The brains behind this start-up have created a unique educations admissions platform that drastically reduces student drop-outs during the admissions process, and improves the understanding of why students drop out, in turn allowing further education colleges to increase their revenue.

The software uses a “human-assisted” chatbot that connects to students through WhatsApp; their platform is an early intervention warning allowing their clients to stay ahead of problems and competitors. Having secured Seed funding with investors such as Bibliu, and EdTech unicorn 2U.com, they are now looking for a Full Stack Software Developer to join the team.

Job Description

In this Full Stack Developer job, you will be joining the EdTech revolution as a ‘founding employee’. You will lead and champion a product that is shaking up the industry, participating and design, creating, testing and fixing scalable software on the front and back end. This opportunity has excellent progression and mentoring available; a rare opportunity to really make an impact on the software and product of a revolutionary start-up in its early stages!

You will start working remotely – they will have a London office when restrictions allow and are also starting to form an employee base in Liverpool.

Key Responsibilities

In this Graduate Software Developer job, your responsibilities will include:

  • Participating in the design and creation of scalable software
  • Writing clean, functional code on the front- and back-end
  • Testing and fixing bugs or other coding issues
  • Work with development teams and product managers to ideate software solutions
  • Developing front-end website architecture.
  • Designing user interactions on web pages.
  • Developing back-end website applications.
  • Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency
  • Write technical documentation
  • Creating servers and databases for functionality.
  • Ensuring responsiveness of applications.
  • Working alongside graphic designers for web design features.
  • Seeing through a project from conception to finished product.
  • Designing and developing APIs.
  • Meeting both technical and consumer needs.
  • Staying abreast of developments in web applications and programming languages.

Job Requirements

  • 1-3 years of full stack software development experience
  • Proficiency with fundamental front-end languages such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • Ability to work and deliver creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
  • Result-oriented persons
  • Excellent presentation and demo skills
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and be creative within a team.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular JS, Node.js, React and Amber.
  • Familiarity with database technology such as MySQL, Oracle and MongoDB.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Familiar with agile working practices
