The worst job I've had

I have been very fortunate, I've always enjoyed and loved all jobs I've held, from being a waiter in a tapas bar, working on a hog roast stall (by far the tastiest), a hand full of bar roles at local pubs or even working in the tea rooms at the National Trust. I've always chosen jobs which I love and enjoy that way it doesn't feel like I'm working (as hard).

Job description

In this Junior Account Manager job, you will be at the forefront of the company’s growth and development, taking on many different responsibilities in order to support all areas of the business. You will be helping to manage and develop key client partnerships, proactively reaching out to startup businesses through face-to-face meetings, telephone calls and online channels based on pre-approved target list and guidelines. It’s essential that you have fantastic communication skills and a real knack for people - as you’ll be working build and manage a range of 20-30 key clients to market the company’s product and monitor different accounts.

Key responsibilities

In this Junior Account Manager job, your responsibilities will include:

  • Researching and identifying clients within the startup sector
  • Building and sustaining strong relationships with potential clients
  • Managing a book of existing clients
  • Using your own initiative to think of innovative ways to approach new clients
  • Monitoring partner client’s accounts to ensure they are using the platform effectively, and taking steps to support them if they are not
  • Attending regular networking events in order to promote the platform

  • A 2.1 or above from a good university
  • 1 year’s experience in recruitment / business development / EdTech or in a consultative selling role
  • An entrepreneurial mindset is essential

  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • A keen interest or experience in the education sector is a huge advantage
  • The ability to work well under pressure
