1. Who is Give A Grad A Go (GAGAGO)?
Created in 2009, GAGAGO is passionate about helping graduates and companies reach their full potential. We’re committed to making a difference and matching the right company with the perfect candidate. Featured on the BBC and The Guardian, we’re proud to have established ourselves as the UK’s leading graduate jobs and careers specialists.
2. How does it work?
We match successful companies with bright young graduates. Through signing up to the site, graduates can tell us a bit more about themselves so we can see where they would be most suited to work. We then make the call and introduce our best matches to clients, to get assessed and hopefully hired.
3. How do we work with employers?
As a specialist graduate recruitment company, we provide businesses with a streamlined and efficient process to find high calibre graduates hungry for work. We find candidates that match the skills set required by the employer, present them with a shortlist of our top candidates and they then decided who they would like to invite for an interview.
4. Does it matter that I didn’t get a 1st or a 2.1?
Whether you got the grades or not, your CV is your chance to shine. You need to put extra emphasis on your work experience, your personal triumphs and your achievements. Employers look for different qualities in their candidates, but a well-rounded character can be just as appealing as a very academic one.
5. Can I sign up before I’ve graduated?
Of course you can! Sign-up to register your interest and get in touch with us once you’re ready to start working. We often work on Graduate Schemes that start further down the line so having your CV on the system will ensure we can get in touch if you fit the criteria.
6. Will I get paid whilst working on a placement or just in a permanent role?
We have never, and won't ever, let any graduate work for free. Whether you’re working in a placement, placement to permanent, or straight to permanent role, you will always get paid for your time.
7. Will I be charged for using the service?
We do not charge graduates to use the service. We only charge a fee to a business if it takes on one of our candidates.
8. Can I do a part-time placement?
GAGAGO does not offer part-time positions. All of the job vacancies we work with are full-time, either as paid work placements, leading to a permanent role and/or straight to permanent jobs.
9. What companies can I expect to be shortlisted for?
We work with a wide range of companies from various sectors. From helping corporate clients find new recruits for their graduate schemes to facilitating flourishing start-ups find young and fresh talent, we deal with a variety of roles and placements to suit your career aspirations.
10. Will I be contacted if I am being shortlisted for a role?
As part of our recruitment process we will always liaise with each candidate to inform them of the role and the company and make sure they are happy to go through.
11. How does the employer benefit?
By partnering with us, employers and candidates cut back on time, money and unnecessary stress. Employers can find their ideal candidate from our curated and tailored shortlist of top graduates for the role. You can share their ambitions and aspirations honestly, as we’re interested in genuinely fulfilling these. If you’re unsure of what career you’re after, we can chat to you about possible avenues to look into, too.
12. How long does the process take?
The application process can vary. We’ve filled a role within 24 hours of it going live whereas others have taken a lot longer to close. As our clients run a business, we have to work around their time management.
13. Do I need to come in and meet you?
Not necessarily. You can pop by if you would like to have a more in-depth chat about what you are after, although all our recruitment consultants speak to candidates on the phone previously. Some clients might require us to meet you first before we send through any CVs.
14. Will I need to attend a series of interviews?
This entirely depends on the company but, generally speaking, most candidates have more than one interview per role. You may have a telephone interview to start with, followed up by a face to face interview later on for example. This selection process is invaluable for your confidence and experience. We will arrange all interviews for you and help you fine tune your interview technique for each stage of the process.
15. How do I change or update my CV?
You can log onto your profile and update your personal preferences and your CV. Alternatively you can email an updated CV to the team and we’ll do it for you. please email to
grad@giveagradago.com.
16. Can I get some advice for my CV?
We’re always happy to help and to give a few pointers to help you boost your chances. If you would like any advice then please get in touch.
17. Why can I only apply for 5 jobs per week?
The application limit has been put in place to ensure candidates apply for roles they are suited to and have targeted accordingly. Applying for roles without putting much into your application won’t create a great impression and may hinder your chances down the line.
